Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus Spring Semester Begins!
This semester will be led by director Kyle Schneider. (Mark Robinson is out of town until mid-April.)
SCHEDULE: We will meet on the following ten Tuesday evenings:
January 24, 31
February 14, 21, 28
March 7, 28
April 4, 18, 25
TIME: Rehearsals run 7:00-9:00 and take place at the Homer High School Mariner Theatre. The doors (preferred entrance up the stairs by the dumpster) will open at 6:15 for the first rehearsal (1/24) and at 6:30 for all the rest.
FEES: There is a class fee of $50 for this semester - the money pays for the venue, the accompanist, the conductor and admin.
There is a materials fee of up to $34 to pay for the music. You will find the list of music below. If you own any of these pieces please bring them so you don't have to buy them again.
As always, fees can be waived for individual need - please talk to Laura.
PARTICIPANTS: This choir is for singers high school age and up. No auditions or previous singing experience is required.
PURPOSE: The purpose of these rehearsals is to gather together to sing and make music as an ensemble. We are not planning a formal concert at this time but we will be working hard to perfect all of the pieces for our own satisfaction. IF we feel some pieces are ready for an audience at some point we may schedule an impromptu sharing - perhaps in an outdoor venue.
Please plan to arrive early on January 24 so we can take care of all the paperwork and payments. If you have any questions about anything (including whether you owe money from Fall semester) please email Laura.
Pier One's COVID-19 Policy has been updated since last semester: COVID-19 vaccinations and masks are no longer required for participation. However, the health of everyone in our community remains a high priority for our organization.
Rehearsals will still take place in the Homer High School Mariner Theatre rather than the HS choir room so that we will have plenty of room to spread out.
We still have some singer masks available for those folks who are interested.
Additionally, and very importantly, we expect participants to monitor their own health and stay home if they have symptoms of illness as well as to respect the comfort level of their fellow singers and maintain their distance unless invited to move closer.
The COVID Committee remains active in order to respond to current public health concerns and advise the Pier One staff and board. Policy is subject to change based on new information. All policy is set by the staff and board.
