Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus
The Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus has been making musical magic for many years, collaborating with the Homer High School Concert Choir and the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra to perform notable works such as Handel’s Messiah, the Mozart Requiem, & Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, as well as the inspirational collection of songs for the “Concert for Peace” in 2019. They have performed in Italy, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Flanders Field, & New York City.

Mozart’s Requiem
A collaboration between the Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus and the Homer High School Concert Choir with orchestral accompaniment.
Conducted by Kyle Schneider & Mark Robinson
Friday, May 1, 7:00PM at the Homer High School Mariner Theatre,
Saturday, May 2, 3:00PM at the Kenai High School Renee C. Henderson Auditorium
Pier One Theatre's Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus in collaboration with the Homer High School Concert Choir and a community orchestra will perform Mozart's Requiem on Friday, May 1 at 7:00 PM in Homer, and Saturday, May 2 at 3:00 PM in Kenai.
We invite you to dedicate a performance to someone you have loved and lost. These dedications will be displayed in certificate form in the commons of each venue. Please fill out a form with the name of your loved one, and a short additional text (if you wish). After the concert, you will be welcome to take your certificate home with you.
There is no fee for these certificates, but if you are able to make a donation to help cover the costs of paper, printing, and labor, that would be most welcome.
We are honored to perform this work in memory of all those who have passed on before us.
Under the direction of Kyle Schneider the Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus & Homer High School Concert Choir will begin rehearsing the MOZART REQUIEM for performance the first weekend in May, 2026.
Rehearsals will begin August 21, 2025.
Homer Rehearsals will be on Thursday 7:00-9:00 PM in the Homer High School Choir room. These will be led by Kyle Schneider, and accompanied by Ola Mullikin.
Central Peninsula rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 PM in the Soldotna High School Green Room. These will be led by Audra Calloway, and accompanied by Mim McKay. Director Kyle Schneider will make a monthly visit.
Mark Robinson will visit each choir to touch on his pieces in the fall and again in the spring.
The participant fee for this project will be $150 ($75/semester) which is roughly $5 per rehearsal. We will be using the Kalmus classic edition of the score (the same one we used in 2002) which will cost $15 each. As always payment plans, and partial or complete scholarships are available.
All adult singers will need to complete the KPBSD volunteer application form (which involves a background check) to be eligible to sing. If you participated in the We Are Phoenix choir all you have to do is resubmit your application for the upcoming school year.
