Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus

The Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus has been making musical magic for many years, collaborating with the Homer High School Concert Choir and the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra to perform notable works such as Handel’s Messiah, the Mozart Requiem, & Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, as well as the inspirational collection of songs for the “Concert for Peace” in 2019. They have performed in Italy, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Flanders Field, & New York City.

Under the direction of Kyle Schneider the Kenai Peninsula Community Chorus & Homer High School Concert Choir will begin rehearsing the MOZART REQUIEM for performance the first weekend in May, 2026.

Rehearsals will begin August 21, 2025.

Homer Rehearsals will be on Thursday 7:00-9:00 PM in the Homer High School Choir room. These will be led by Kyle Schneider, and accompanied by Ola Mullikin.

Central Peninsula rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 PM in the Soldotna High School Green Room. These will be led by Audra Calloway, and accompanied by Mim McKay. Director Kyle Schneider will make a monthly visit.

Mark Robinson will visit each choir to touch on his pieces in the fall and again in the spring.

The participant fee for this project will be $150 ($75/semester) which is roughly $5 per rehearsal. We will be using the Kalmus classic edition of the score (the same one we used in 2002) which will cost $15 each. As always payment plans, and partial or complete scholarships are available.

All adult singers will need to complete the KPBSD volunteer application form (which involves a background check) to be eligible to sing. If you participated in the We Are Phoenix choir all you have to do is resubmit your application for the upcoming school year.
