In mythology, the Raven is a teller of tales, a prophet, and a trickster; a character at home with the Gods and with the business of humans, exhibiting a certain kinship with both the earthiness and omniscience of the theatre.

When Pier One was founded in 1973, ravens ruled the Homer Spit. Clearly visible from the original warehouse-theatre entrance nearly any time of day or night, one of those ravens would be perched upon a piling on the pier, waiting for something delicious to wash up on the beach.

The “raven on the pier” was part of the theatre experience, watching over the warehouse, the performers, and the audience alike. Now it is you, the Raven's Club, who watches over us all.
