Ten - Minute Play Festival
A selection of new, unpublished works, on stage for the first time.

Writing workshop facilitated by Kate Rich
Festival kick-off will be held on April 21, at 5:00 PM at Grace Ridge Brewing with your hosts Christine and Rudy.
Interested directors and writers are encouraged to attend. All are welcome! Playwright Kate Rich will present some basic principles of crafting a ten-minute play. No experience with playwriting is required! Those who have drafts in the works are encouraged to bring them along for peer discussion.
We will host additional gatherings for playwrights in advance of the June 15 submission deadline. Dates TBA.
Performances to be held in the last half of August 2024. Exact dates TBD based on play submissions.
Call for Directors: Around eight plays will be produced. Directors will direct 1-2 plays eachand participate in the reading and selection of submissions as well as the selection of actors. If you are interested in participating as a director, please email info@pieronetheatre.org . Additionally, potential directors are encouraged to attend the festival kickoff.
Call for Entries: Pier One Theatre is seeking unpublished 10-minutes plays for performance in August, 2024. Submissions must be no longer than 10 pages in 12 point font, not including a title page and character list. Cast must consist of 6 or fewer players. Please email submissions to info@pieronetheatre.org between April 1 and June 15, 2024.
Call for Performers: Auditions will be held for a “company” from which the selected plays will be cast. Each play will have between 1 and 6 characters. Most actors will appear in more than one play. Date TBA.
An opportunity for writers: New works created this spring are encouraged! If you are interested in writing a ten - minute play, we encourage you to check out the book “A More Perfect 10” by Gary Garrison (some copies will be available for checkout at the Pier One office.) Elements of this book will be discussed at our Festival Kickoff with playwright Kate Rich.
